SPORTident in the Canary islands

Eventually Gran Canaria has an electronic punching system!

While the rest of Europe has been using electronic timing systems for orienteering for many years now, the Canary Islands have continued to use the old system of 'punching' (there are probably many young orienteers that are not aware that this system exists).

However a group of orienteers on Gran Canaria (including Active Canaria) realised the need for the Canary Islands to catch up with the rest of the orienteering world and they invested in a SPORTident system.

Over the next few months there will be a series of training events for competitors to get used to the system (and for us, as organisers, to learn how to use it). More details soon....
