Gran Canaria Challenger Training

At the weekend I did something I have wanted to do since arriving in Gran Canaria 3 years ago, I ran from PIco de las Nieves (2000m above sea-level) to Las Canteras beach (0m sea-level). It is a part of an organised training by Gran Challenager organisers Burburjita. Around 90 runners had set their alarms for stupid o'clock on Saturday morning and made our way through the streams of people leaving night clubs to catch the bus to the top of the island.

Being above the clouds and watching the sun rise was breath-taking.

It was a really enjoyable training run which took 4h30 to cover the 46km (and meant minus one toe nail).
