Feliz Navidad from Active Canaria

Allan - Posted on 23 December 2010

This time tomorrow I will be back in freezing cold Britain, enjoying the snow! However that does not mean that Active Canaria's  operations are closing down for the festive season! The opposite in fact! This Christmas is going to be the busiest time for orienteers on Gran Canaria!

Active Canaria have the pleasure of welcoming more very high profile orienteers!

Next week Swedish orienteering couple David Anderrson and Lena Eliasson arrive on the island for a one week long training camp. David is 16th in the world at the moment and has a silver medal from WOC 2007, Lena is currently ranked 10th in the World and has a bronze medal from WOC 2007.

Then one of the most important people in world orienteering is heading south from Norway to find some sun, World of O's founder Jan Kocbach. Jan will arrive on the island to spend one week training with his girlfriend and hoping taking some great photos.

A few days later former World Champion, Jarkko Huovila and current World Champion, Anni-Maija Fincke arrive followed a few days later by 8 runners from Kalevan Rasti, argueably the World's best orienteering club at the moment (This year's winners of Tio-mila and 2nd  Jukola).

Active Canaria would like to wish all these runners a very Happy Christmas in sunny Gran Canaria.
