This week the World Orienteering Championships got under way in Trondheim , Norway. Orienteers from all over the World will contest 3 individual medals and a relay. The first discipline to be contested was Sunday's Sprint race. This race proved that training in Gran Canaria pays off.

Active Canaria's first ever client,  Øystein Kvaal Østerbø was one of the favourites to win a medal as it was run on his home terrain. As it turned it was the tightest race in World Champ's history and he narrowly missed out on a medal by less than a second and he will only 3 seconds away from winning gold!! However the gold medal went to another of Active Canaria's clients, Matthias Mueller from Switzerland. Matthias came to Gran Canaria in Feburary and his first training was on Active Canaria's new Sprint map Faro 2.

Well done to you both!!
